FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How are the support materials provided?

Option 1.  DVD/CD-ROM Format

The programs include 2 discs (3 for Careers In Theatre), and a Single School Site License. The DVD is shown in class, in short (15-20 minute sections), and then the lesson designs suggest different ways to approach and reinforce the material.

In addition to the DVD teachers show in class, each program comes with a CD-ROM with all the support materials needed to teach a unit on that program’s topic. The digital format allows for several different approaches to instruction:

Hard Copies: Some teachers choose to print the support materials and have their students make their own workbooks.

Smartboards and Learning Labs: Many teachers use the CD-ROM materials with smartboards or in learning labs.

Option 2.  Yearly Subscription Format

Paperless schools:  For schools that utilize downloadable and/or streaming content delivery, we have exciting news. We have an excellent company hosting our digital delivery/yearly subscription option.  Some of the advantages of this new delivery system are:

  1. Schools can download Video Content and Support Materials to 5 locations in their school.  This allows for content to be directed to a Theatre Performance Classroom, a Tech Theatre classroom, a Performance Space, a Language Arts classroom, and another location within the school.  The subscription is for one year.
  2. Students can stream Video Content and Support Materials to their school approved devices when they leave school, so if they are absent, or they have a flipped classroom assignment, they can work at home.
  3. All support materials have Text Fields, so students can complete Resource Sheets and Written Assessments, and  compose Writing Prompts, in class, or remotely, and email their work to the teacher.
  4. Digital delivery allows Practical Technical Theatre the opportunity to add or update programs on an ongoing basis.
  5. The cost of subscriptions has a much smaller initial investment compared to purchasing the DVD/CD-ROM format.

"I DON'T DO TECH!" My strong subject in the area of theatre is acting. How can I benefit from these more "technically oriented" topics?

Congratulations! These programs were produced for you! We understand that the expense of having staff-specialists in all areas (technical, dance, etc..) is just more than many school systems can support. That is why the 60+ years of teaching experience at the secondary level the developers bring to this project is so valuable! Many teachers have sent us notes saying they learned with the students, and now consider themselves "technies"!

What is our disc replacement policy?

A DISC IS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT: If you get a new program, and a disc is damaged in transit, return the disc and we'll replace it for free.

A DISC GETS DAMAGED AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN USING THE DISC: If you have a disc that you have been using, and a disc gets damaged beyond repair, send the damaged disc back to us and we'll send a replacement disc back for $50.00, shipping included. We have to break open a new program to get a replacement disc.

LOST OR MISPLACED DISCS: If you lose or misplace a disc, we can't take responsibility for the lost disc. If a textbook is lost book publishers won't replace that book for free. We have the same policy.
